I have never been a great fan of Adobe's Dreamweaver: it is very cumbersome and takes up far too many resources for what is, effectively, a text editor with added tips. I also find that its way of tying sites together is far too inflexible for the way in which I work—especially since almost all of my web design work is now done with Content Management Systems (CMS).
A few months ago, when I was out and about with my laptop and needed to do some editing, I suddenly remembered a favourable review of Panic's Coda, so I decided to have a look.
Quite apart from having one of the coolest websites around, Coda can be used, as a free trial, for thirty days (and that's thirty days of use, not thirty days from download).
So, I downloaded Coda and within minutes, I had fallen in love with it. It is a beautifully lightweight application...

MessageSpace Creative

(Administrator 2008-Mar-23, 02:42) Devil's Kitchen has recently started working with Mike Rouse on a series of exciting projects. Mike is a new media and technical pundit, who has been running the technical side of internet politics TV station, 18 Doughty Street, for the last year.
It was here, over the course of The Devil's numerous appearances on the station, that he and Mike met and began talking...

Lightbox

(Administrator 2008-Mar-23, 02:40) It has been a while since I browsed the Website Baker forums, and it seems that I have been missing a lot: there are some wonderful modules being developed by various people...

High praise indeed

(Administrator 2008-Feb-22, 14:03) I recently redesigned a blog for Andrew Ian Dodge, a project which included creating a whole piece of themed artwork for the header. I wanted to try to get the feel of Andrew's dark and anarchic personality, and I seem to have succeeded!
Andrew has been kind enough to praise your humble Devil on his blog...

"I have never worked with anyone who is as good at getting the vibe and feeling I am going for. If you need any sort of graphic design then DK is your man. His vision and talent is quite astonishing."—Andrew Ian Dodge, writer and musician.

Andrew has been happy enough even, as he put it, "after having received the bill" to hire me to create the cover for his new CD – The Wedding EP – and the second edition of his book, The Gathering Dark & Other Tales. Both are currently in production.

WebCommons

(Administrator 2007-Dec-04, 08:56) One of MessageSpace Creative's main projects will be a political filter; the site is currently being built, but here is a preview advert...

Devil's Kitchen voted #6 Best UK Political Blog

(Administrator 2007-Dec-04, 08:43) The Devil's Kitchen libertarian swearblog was recently placed at #6 overall in the Top 500 UK political weblogs, as voted for by bloggers and readers.

All I need to do now is to shift through yet more work and find stuff that is a little less "arty" and more corporate.

Server trouble

(Administrator 2007-Dec-04, 08:39) Some server trouble has ensured that this site has been down for a couple of weeks, for which I apologise. However, your humble Devil would like to point out that it was not his fault, but that of his provider. The server that they had allocated was, on a thousand to one chance, deficient in the hardware stakes...

Portfolio hunting

(Administrator 2007-Dec-04, 08:39) Trying to hunt down things to put in one's portfolio can be very problematic. Over the last ten years, I have produced literally thousands of pieces of artwork for hundreds of clients. Trying to track down clients – some of whom were very small but that I did good work for – is a little difficult...
