12 Months To Midnight

12 Months To Midnight was a new play by Richard Shelton, that was produced in Fringe 2000. The poster was one of my first forays into full colour work for the Bedlam Theatre (it was rare that there was the budget for anything more than two or three spot colours). I wanted to capture the essence of time passing, but without using anything as ordinary as a picture of a clock.

The numbers and dial were drawn in vectors in Freehand, and then Freehand's 3D rotation filter applied. It was then copied into Photoshop, where it was mapped onto a sphere, using Photoshop's 3D transform tool. A chrome filter was then applied and it was then colourised with green.

The girl had a glowing edges filter applied, and then a red colourisation.
