Trouble In Paradise

Trouble In Paradise was an improvised piece, with its starting point inspired by Alice In Wonderland. For some time I had wanted to start combining line illustration with photography and I asked Idil Sukan to draw a traditional picture of Alice and, after some deliberation and an apology along the lines of "it just wouldn't come out right", Idil produced the simple line drawn face seen here.

As it happens, the illustration fitted perfectly with my vision of this particular rabbit hole (an underwater cave) and the whole thing became very quick and easy to produce. The emphasis was on keeping the typography simple, so that the shape of the face would draw people in.
