Your humble Devil has been working for himself, effectively, for some four years now and there has been little progression in my technical or creative skills. This has been the main motivation to my desire to go back into full-time employment and I have been casting around, in a desultory manner, for a job for a little while.

I am now employed at VerseOne, a company that focuses particularly on the accessibility issues surrounding websites, for which I have had to revise the W3C WAI Guidelines.

As well as running training programmes, VerseOne have built their own ColdFusion-based Content Management System, Spearhead, which is designed to maximise the WAI Guidelines on content accessibility.

VerseOne™ is a specialist provider of browser based content management software and services, enabling organisations to turn content into meaningful information and gain true competitive advantage. VerseOne's™ Spearhead™ suite is a dynamic, easy to deploy, end user configurable and above all, affordable solution.

There is a great deal of work to be done, I am glad to say. VerseOne provide sites for a good many state organisations—councils, housing associations and the like—and the challenge of combining vast amounts of information typical of such sites with the requirements of accessibility provides a number of interesting problem-solving opportunities.

I have been working for VerseOne for nearly two weeks now, and am enjoying it immensely; I am able to spend my time concentrating on designing and not constantly chasing clients (either to get business or for money); further, working with other people (including another designer and a couple of coders) is a lot of fun.

Anyway, onwards and upwards...
